Downey Side’s incredible fifty-year flight to find permanent homes for children is being chronicled in the book, “America’s Youngest Hostages”. By shedding light on the extraordinary work of the agency, it will raise awareness of the tragic plight of the 500,000 children trapped in foster car today.
Award-winning writer Ian Keldoulis has conducted scores of interviews with adoptive families, though leaders in child welfare and Downey Side staff. These conversations have been compiled into hundreds of pages of research.
Your help is needed to complete the book so Downey Side can be an advocate for half a million voiceless children.
